* What are the Fixed Stars?To the ancients, while the planets wandered through the zodiac--the word "planet" means "wanderer"--the stars seemed fixed in place relative to the zodiac. Therefore, celestial phenomena involving motion could be measured with these stars as reference points. The fixed stars do actually move, but so slowly that a naked-eye observer would have to be hundreds of years old to notice it.
* Is this report anything like the other reports that you sell on your website?
We've never written anything about the fixed stars, which are a whole separate area of astrology. We didn't write this report; it is a product of Helialcal Rising, a company formed by Bernadette Brady and Sarah Ashton. For more about them, see the next question.

The Starlight computer program, which generates these reports, is the product of Heliacal Rising, a company formed by Bernadette Brady and Sarah Ashton. Bernadette Brady is the author of Predictive Astrology, the Eagle and the Lark (Weiser 1992, 1998) and Brady's Book of Fixed Stars (Weiser USA 1998). Bernadette is a international astrological lecturer, and co-principal of Astro Logos. Sarah Ashton is a mathematician with 17 years of experience in software design and IT consultancy, developing software for a variety of industries. Sarah has had a passion for the night sky since she was small, and started studying both astronomy and astrology at that time.
* Tell me more about the "Starlight" program.
The computer program itself does a lot more than print these Natal Fixed Star Reports! The "Starlight" program is an astrological application that re-establishes the ancient method of working with Fixed Stars. It's a specialty program designed to allow astrologers to observe, research, learn about, and explore the world of the fixed stars, both on their desktop and in the night sky. This report explores the impact of the stars on a birthchart, both visually and by short and full "paran reports," where every unique star and planet combination is defined and delineated by Bernadette Brady, author of Brady's Book of Fixed Stars. "Starlight" is a virtuoso program for helping you discover the sky, the fixed stars and their myths and meanings. Other astrology programs can give you normal charting techniques, but only "Starlight" can enable you to see a parapegma, the phase of a star, the time of first visibility of a star, paran options, star meanings, the image of the sky on the day you were born, and what stars are connected to the foundations of your birthchart. "Starlight" is a completely new and unique concept in the world of astrological programs and reports.
