It is Steven's desire to teach others how to become more successful professional astrologers. He states that it is time for him to "pass the torch." His programs have a warm and intimate tone, utilizing a combination of theory, instruction and practice sessions with plenty of one-on-one interaction. He goes deeply into the astrological fundamentals rather than superficially into a plethora of astrological details. The class work is primarily from real-world situations using class members' charts. Always, the aim lies in encouraging students to find their own voices, to become better astrologers, and to gain a deeper understanding of evolutionary astrology and chart interpretation.

The unresolved or incomplete stories of our prior lives haunt us in the present lifetime. Karmic fears, limiting assumptions, wounds and attachments - all distort us today like the ghosts of a painful childhood. Uncovering the essence of our previous incarnations is to evolutionary astrology what learning about early family dynamics is to conventional psychology. It is essential. It is the foundation upon which the system rests.

Starting with the Moon’s south node and working with its ruler and all its planetary aspects, we delve for the “chart behind the chart,” aiming to find a specific story that is emblematic of the entire unresolved karmic pattern - the karma that has “ripened” in the present lifetime, and is thus visible in the edgier parts of the story we are living today.
